Slavery Never Existed?!

posted Tuesday, 10 July 2007

When I met Mr. E.D. Johnson a couple months ago, I never thought that he'd ask me to seriously reconsider a paradigm that I've known since as long as I can remember.  Of course, I'm up for a challenge but any person that has a basic elementary school education knows that Africans came to America by large ships that sailed across the Atlantic Ocean.  What we also know is that from our understanding, the journey of Africans to America was not facilitated by the free will of those who took the journey.  Taking it one step further, a person with advanced knowledge of History would  probably be able to trace slavery (or the notion thereof) back to the Romans, including slavery on the continent of Africa.  So...what gives?

Consider that slavery (as we know it) never happened and while there were thousands crossing the Middle Passage, something else was going on.  Check out Mr. Johnson's website and let me (and him!) know what you think!  I'm definitely looking forward to the release of this very interesting book!
